Meet the Chair of the KCDP
Hello!
As the chair of the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party, I want to recruit you.
We are facing a time like the United States has never seen - the full dismantling of systems at the federal level, with Congressional leaders, the courts, and the white house all acting in lock step. We’re facing a Michigan state house that is run by my former opponent (Matt Hall), who has no apparent interest in serving his constituents or the state, spending his time instead to make Trump’s national platform a state one.
But we also have a lot to speak for here in Kalamazoo. In 2024, Kalamazoo County was one of a handful of counties in the state to increase support for the presidential candidate, with Kamala Harris getting more votes in 2024 than Joe Biden received in 2020. We flipped Texas Township to a blue township, electing supervisor JoAnne O’Rourke, we held onto a Democratic majority in the County Commission, and we elected a Democrat to all countywide positions.
Now it’s up to us to make sure Democrats continue to deliver for the people. Our local leaders are working hard to listen to their constituents and get stuff done. We, as the party of the people in Kalamazoo County will continue to recruit, train, and elect qualified candidates to office and hold our elected officials responsible.
We hope you’ll join us in those efforts today, and be a part of the fight for a more just world.
If you’d like to schedule a meeting, please do so through the scheduling form below.
Onward,
Justin Mendoza, Chair
Kalamazoo County Democratic Party
