KCDP Endorsee – Keisha Dickason

Keshia was a first-generation college student at Western Michigan University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Management.  She also studied Health Care Administration and higher education.  She is a Planning Commissioner for Oshtemo Township, and also serves her community as the Executive Director of Partners in Housing Transition, which provides household items to previously homeless families, making sure that “Every Child’s Head is in a Bed.”   In 2016, Keshia authored her first children’s book entitled Arianna’s First 5K, a story about her daughter’s journey toward her first 5K run and the motivation it gave her in her elementary years.  Dickason developed a passion for running after a classmate died from heart disease at the early age of 39.  In the year following his death, Dickason ran forty 5K’s, dedicating her final run to him.  Keisha says, “Running makes me feel free and in control.”  She is excited to serve as an Ambassador for Black Girls Run!
