Timothy J. (Tim) Hudson

Tim is a life-long resident of Comstock Township, Michigan.  Following graduation from Comstock High School in 1971, he went to work in the construction trade, earning his license as a Michigan building contractor.  In 1978, Tim joined the Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) where he held positions including, equipment operator, track foreman and rail inspector.

In 1989, Tim began his involvement in township government when he was appointed to the Comstock Township Planning Commission, a position he held for seven years until his election to the post of township supervisor in 1996.

Tim notes that during the three terms he has served as supervisor, the township has enjoyed steady growth in both the commercial and residential sectors.  During this period, the township was awarded a $3 million Federal Community Development Block Grant for the re-development of the former General Motors stamping plant in Comstock Township.  As expansion has continued at the facility, there has been a corresponding rise in employment opportunities. The efforts of the township administration have been instrumental in making the Midlink Business Park one of the county’s premiere, multi-tenant industrial complexes.

Tim has served for the past 12 years as the township’s representative to the Kalamazoo Area Transportation Study (KATS), and as chairman for one term.  Also, he has been a member of the Kalamazoo Regional Water and Wastewater Commission since its inception in 1999 and serves as the current chair.

He enjoys serving the residents of Comstock Township and working with the community at large to improve inter-governmental relations throughout the region.
