Roger Paul Poe

Roger Poe, as a 13 year old, moved with his parents to Comstock in l965.  He graduated from Comstock High School in l970 and went on to Rochester College in Rochester Hills, MI. where he received a Bachelor’s degree.  As a young man, Roger worked in a variety of jobs but has been a school employee for the past 25 years.  He currently is employed by the Kalamazoo Public Schools.  He is a member of an MEA affiliate and has served in several leadership roles in that professional association.  Roger has been chairman of his organization’s negotiating team, Vice President of the unit and chair of the crisis committee where his training and experience in business skills and communications have served him well.  

Roger has been married to Joyce for 33 years. They have six adult sons and 8 grandchildren.  Five of their sons live in Kalamazoo and one is in the army, having served in Iraq and currently in Afghanistan.  Roger is an elder at the Mall City Church of Christ.

Roger believes that government exists to serve the people and is running for that reason.  He seeks to bring the kind of change and experience that will lead Comstock into a positive future.
