After an informational meeting with
Marilyn Schlack and Ken Miller about the Arcadia Commons West
Economic Development Plan and the proposed Event Center, a surprise
guest dropped by the Nov. 19 meeting. Governor Granholm spent about
30 minutes with us to bring us up to date on the budget issues in the
Legislature. She spoke hopefully about education and the Promise and
law enforcement but realistically about the blocks for collecting
even minor revenue. She gracefully spent time with anyone with a
camera for pictures before heading back to Lansing.
